1. SHEETING

An international chemical company required removal and replacement of asbestos sheeting, Associated Roofing & Maintenance Ltd, licensed to carry out such work, removed the existing sheeting to a toxic waste dump and re-sheeted with 0.7mm thick colour-coated steel sheets. In addition, ARM incorporated a steel liner and glass fibre quilt. All this with minimum disruption to personnel working below. Official safety standards were maintained. Result, a problem eliminated and a pleasing new roof.

2. INSULATION

Energy conscious Wiltshire based offices required to improve insulation of their existing flat felt covered roof. ARM undertook to prime the existing roof surface, incorporate a fully bonded insulation board with a weathering membrane of high performance elastomeric felts. Result, a dramatic reduction in heating costs for the offices below and a new fifteen year guaranteed roof membrane.

3. GUTTERING

Leaking valley, boundary wall and eaves gutters are, so often the source of problems in industrial buildings. ARM recently provided the solution at a large West Country Distribution Centre, by using a Pirelasti high performance E.P.D.M. rubber gutter liner or alternatively guttering can be renewed in Galvanised Metal or Aluminium all of which can be insulated.

4. GLAZING

The north-light glazing of a well known company's factory required complete refurbishment. ARM removed the broken sheets, fitted new wire reinforced cast glass and resealed all the glazing bars using bitumen backed sealing strip. All this at no inconvenience to personnel working below. In other areas, polycarbonate sheets were used as replacement to glass to conform with current regulations.

5. VENTILATION

An Avon based Paper Mill suffered considerable condensation problems. ARM fitted manually operated open sided ventilators to provide controlled movement of air, substantially reducing damaging moisture.

6. BITUMINOUS MEMBRANES

The existing bitumnous membranes roof of one of the largest paper mills in the UK had failed causing damage to machinery and fabric of the building. ARM stripped the roof, replaced metal decking, inserted tapered insulation baords to improve falls incorporating a vapour barrier and then applied High Performance Elastomeric Bitumnous Membranes Systems giving not only total satisfaction, but also long life to an old roof.

7. CLADDING

An engineering works in Wales were experiencing problems with the existing exterior of an old building, ARM recommended and fitted vertical plastisol coated galvanised steel. Appearance was updated, but more importantly, costly ongoing maintenance was eliminated.

8. WATERPROOFING TREATMENT

A large foundry in the Midlands with asphalted roofs were experiencing major leaks. For a fraction of the cost of re-roofing ARM applied a Heigh Performance Reinforced Liquid coating system, after first cleaning and then applying a biocidal wash to kill all fungus spores. This teratment provided the owners with complete protection, stopped costly ongoing maintenance, and released monies for other activities.
